Technical Lead – Fareham – Wastewater

We are partnering with a ‘cradle to grave’ project delivery partner specialising in planning, commercial and project management. Due to continued growth in their team, they are seeking a Technical Lead to review and sign off on design work for the client, a Tier 1 Main Contractor in the Utilities Sector.

Responsibilities

•    Technical Review & Design Assurance
Lead the review and approval of wastewater design packages to ensure they meet client requirements, project objectives, and UK utility sector standards, including relevant Water UK and WRc specifications.
•    Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
Ensure all design submissions comply with UK water industry regulations, including those set by OFWAT, the Environment Agency, and applicable local Water and Sewerage Companies (WaSCs).
•    Stakeholder & Utility Liaison
Coordinate closely with internal client teams, design consultants, contractors, and statutory undertakers to ensure timely resolution of design issues and alignment with utility approval processes.
•    Constructability & Operational Risk Review
Assess designs for constructibility, long-term operability, and maintenance implications, providing value-engineering input while ensuring they remain compliant with UK wastewater infrastructure standards.
•    Documentation & Technical Governance
Maintain clear records of design review outcomes, approval decisions, and technical communications in accordance with the client’s governance framework and UK utility documentation standards.

Requirements

Must have 5+ years’ experience in utilities engineering design in the UK
Ideal candidate will come from a design engineering background
Must be based within commutable distance of Fareham

Benefits

£65,000 per annum + Hybrid working + Day rate arrangement available
